How Tax-Efficient Giving Works

Did you know? If you donate €250 or more to St. Michael’s House Foundation in a calendar year, we can claim a tax rebate on your generous donation from Revenue. This means your support for individuals with disabilities could increase by an extra €112 or 45% at no additional cost to you.

All it takes is a few minutes of your time to complete the CHY3 tax form, which allows us to reclaim the tax and maximise the impact of your donation.

Your Donations Are Eligible If:

You donate €250 or more to St. Michael’s House Foundation in a calendar year and are resident in Ireland.

You have paid income tax during the year in question.

You are retired and have a pension, investment income, or assets on which you have paid income tax or capital gains tax.

You are self-employed/self-assessed, or jointly assessed for tax with your spouse who is paying tax.

What You Need to Do

To enable St. Michael’s House Foundation to reclaim a tax rebate from Revenue on your kind donation, simply fill out the CHY3 form. You can  download this form here to complete and return by post or email to us.

The CHY3 form is valid for five years, meaning that we can claim tax back on any donations of €250 or more for each of those years.

If you prefer to submit an annual form, you can also complete a CHY4 form for each year.

Without your signed form, this tax relief goes unclaimed and can’t be used to further support our services, so we encourage you to take this small step to help us make a bigger impact!

Simple Steps to Complete the Online CHY3 Form

Completing the online CHY3 form is quick and easy—taking less than two minutes. Here’s how:

Your Privacy

St. Michael’s House Foundation takes your privacy seriously. Your tax form information is stored securely and used solely for claiming tax rebates from Revenue. The Revenue service ensures that you have paid at least the donation amount in tax before we can receive the rebate. We do not have access to any of your personal tax details.
