  1. What is the 70km in January Challenge?

The 70km in January Challenge is an exciting way to kick off 2025 by walking, running, or cycling 70km throughout the month of January. It's a fun and active way to support St. Michael’s House Foundation, with all funds raised helping to provide vital services to people with disabilities.

  1. How do I participate?

Step 1: Register for the challenge and receive your free tracker and snood, and set up your fundraising page.

Step 2: Aim to complete 70km (or 150,000 steps) over the month, as an individual challenge or as part of a group/team.

Step 3: Track your progress using your smartphone, smartwatch, or a pedometer app.

Step 4: Share your journey, photos, and fundraising updates in the event Facebook group and on social media to encourage donations.

  1. How do I track my steps or distance?

You can track your steps on our free Tracker and use any of the following options:

Smartphones/Smartwatches: Most devices have built-in tracking features.

Apps: Download a free pedometer or fitness app, such as:

Pedometer – Step Counter (available on Google Play and the Apple App Store).

Strava: Sign in or sign up for a free account to log your progress.

  1. Is there a fundraising target?

We encourage each participant to aim for a fundraising target of €70.00. Every euro raised will directly support the incredible services provided by St. Michael’s House.

  1. What does my fundraising mean?

Your fundraising helps to:

Provide essential resources and services for children and adults with disabilities.

Empower people to achieve their full potential.

Support families and carers by offering respite, therapies, and inclusion opportunities.

  1. Why should I take part?

Make a Difference: Your efforts directly benefit people who rely on St. Michael’s House services.

Absolutely! We’d love to see your updates, photos, and videos. Sharing your progress can inspire others to join or donate. Don’t forget to tag us!

  1. How do I register?

Not at all! You can spread the distance across the entire month of January, at your own pace.

  1. What do I get for completing the challenge?

Participants who complete the 70km will receive a medal as a token of appreciation for their effort and support.
